As part of the EBSOMED project, BUSINESSMED, in cooperation with CONFINDUSTRIA, is organizing the Business Twinning Forum "Med Business Days 2020 - The role of economic operators in stimulating economic diasporas in the Mediterranean". This event, to be held in Milan, will bring together a delegation of more than 80 economic operators: The brightest entrepreneurs, startups, SME managers, OSE representatives in Europe and in the Southern Mediterranean Neighborhood countries, with special attention particular to the countries of the Machrek.
The EBSOMED Forum will be hosted by the CONNEXT2020 event. Thematic panels and B2B meetings between Italian, European and Mediterranean companies will be organized.
The launch of the event will be organized in conjunction with CONNEXT2020. At the end of the opening session, the first day of the event will be structured around 4 main levers, namely:
- Renewable energy
- Food industry
- The digital and ICT sectors
- The infrastructure sector
The different sessions will give an overview of the Mediterranean markets and their specifications, highlighting the expertise and attractiveness of the region in terms of investments and sustainable partnerships.
The thematic sessions will present a unique platform for investments and access to finance, in addition to exchange opportunities with experts in the sectors covered. After each session, recommendations will be formulated and shared.
During the second day, the Business Country Desk platform will be launched, combining a dynamic marketplace with space for networking and brokerage, as well as interactive sessions on the services offered.
Nearly 200 pre-arranged B2B meetings are planned, the opportunity to chat with representatives of startups, companies and investors, receive advice on market development and access foreign markets.
Context of the event
Countries around the world have made digital transformation a top priority. The Mashreq countries have developed strategies to foster digitization in all sectors of society, including governance, business and value chains. The region’s growing interest in digitization, especially in the business sector, is in part a result of economic realities that challenge certain established business models. The new challenges and opportunities of the sector in the Euro-Mediterranean region will be discussed. The focus will be on the debates on sustainable partnerships as a strategic instrument for the Mashreq region.
The quality of life and the security of future generations are closely linked to the availability of energy sources and the sustainability of energy infrastructure. The event will address trends in the renewable energy markets and provide an international business and partnership platform by highlighting attractive investment opportunities in the sector. Private and public sector actors will be engaged for networking, dialogue and knowledge exchange to develop the use of renewable energies for sustainable growth.
The event will combine in-depth debates and discussions with key business leaders and pioneers, while providing a business space for networking and business-to-business exchanges with companies across the agri-food supply chain. . Agribusiness is one of the most productive, sustainable and profitable sectors and Med Business Days 2020 will take advantage of this privileged opportunity to bring together economic operators on a common platform to discuss current and future aspects of transformation. digital technology for the food industry and the development of intelligent solutions.
Major players in the infrastructure sector will take the opportunity to explore the themes of the infrastructure sector in the region. The event will be a unique platform and an opportunity to discuss priorities representing the views and interests of the industry.
